Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Bought this recently and holy fuck it's awesome. I'm writing this after a long day of warchief slaying. I'm enjoying this game way more than I've enjoyed any game in the past few years.



Anyone else played it/have opinions?

My only complaint really is that the way Talion moves can be kind of clunky. Never put yourself in a position that requires you to get off of a wall or ledge quickly while in combat. Also those horrid accents. Eugh.

I pirated the game to play through it once and it's pretty good. It definitely has it flaws, but none of them keep the game from being really damn fun to play. It cops a lot of shit from other action games that have been coming out lately, namely the Arkham series and Assassins Creed, but I have no complaints there. The gameplay feels really smooth and fun. It's also pretty and runs well on my computer as long as I don't put it on Ultra. I started playing Far Cry 4 and to make it decently playable I have to put that shit so low it's far uglier than FC3 which I can run like maxed out, so what even the fuck IS THAT.
BUT I DIGRESS.

The nemesis system is really cool and I haven't really seen anything like that before so that's pretty neat. It's kind of easy which I don't REALLY mind. There are ways you can get dicked over and die, especially from named archers, srsly why so op? But for the most part ripping through hordes and hordes of orcs is pretty simple, especially when you start unlocking some of the skills as you get further in the game. Still doesn't prevent the game from being fun though, ripping through hordes of orcs is really primarily what makes this game great.

The story is also just OK. Some of the additions they make to the already extensive lore are kind of cool, but it also just kind of muddles everything up and they try too hard to make connections to the movies that they know more people have seen than actually read the books. It's kind of like Force Unleashed where you're like ok this could be pretty cool but does it REALLY makes sense if you consider it in canon with everything else?

All in all definitely a game worth playing though.

This Tears of Grace guy makes some pretty good videos in this game, causing my interest to be peaked. How demanding is it on PC, if I were to pirate it?

I dono. I have a 6 core processor and 16 gigs of ram and a GTX 660 and I can run it on like Very High/High settings if I don't crank the AA too high.

Like a fucking million gigs prob. Probably 25-30 but idk i've also been downloading shit in the 40s
