EXPANSIVE EMPIRES: See the marvels of your empire spread across the map like never before. Each city spans multiple tiles so you can custom build your cities to take full advantage of the local terrain.
ACTIVE RESEARCH: Unlock boosts that speed your civilization’s progress through history. To advance more quickly, use your units to actively explore, develop your environment, and discover new cultures.
DYNAMIC DIPLOMACY: Interactions with other civilizations change over the course of the game, from primitive first interactions where conflict is a fact of life, to late game alliances and negotiations.
COMBINED ARMS: Expanding on the “one unit per tile” design, support units can now be embedded with other units, like anti-tank support with infantry, or a warrior with settlers. Similar units can also be combined to form powerful “Corps” units.
ENHANCED MULTIPLAYER: In addition to traditional multiplayer modes, cooperate and compete with your friends in a wide variety of situations all designed to be easily completed in a single session.
A CIV FOR ALL PLAYERS: Civilization VI provides veteran players new ways to build and tune their civilization for the greatest chance of success. New tutorial systems introduce new players to the underlying concepts so they can easily get started.
My thoughts: I wouldn't preorder this; Firaxis games have been iffy recently (Beyond Earth anyone?), i'm not a fan of the art style, and as with any Civ it's gonna be missing features until the expansions come out. i'd recommend waiting.
Has anyone played Solaris? It is a 4x game that came out this week. Bad timing, since now it will be covered by civ hype
Django-Oh lord, take my lunch money. Please, don't hurt me!
Waterbear- You're dumb and stupid btw and i hate you for saying that forever
Adam- You are right. It's time we all stopped hiding. I'm a girl gamer and I know Joe, RottenCheese and Waterbear are too.
Otome Django~♥: keep frineds close, and you haters EVEN closer
man civ doesn't hold a candle to stellaris, or pretty much any of the grand strategy games.
i mean, it's not perfect, and paradox has some work to do still, but it's fun as fuck to be a bunch of colectivist religious zealots and purge the galaxy of infidels.
but yeah, i bought beyond earth and got burnt tremendously so this won't be a day1 buy for me, but they're promising a lot of cool stuff, city districts, support units, etc.
At the moment, i don't believe they'll deliver, but yeah they could still surprise me.

the art style is... interesting. I wonder if it's because beyond earth was so panned. I hope that the cartoon-y art style means it's not very computer intensive
kinda really sorta want it.
I asked David Geffen personally if he'd donate to TF4 for me, but he wouldn't do it
apparently they're doing videos showing off civs from the game, here's the first.
this game's inching closer and closer to my "Buy ASAP" list by the day
