It's a game where you go through the process of evolution of a life-form. The tools you use to make your organism are extremely versatile and awesome, and it's got lots of variety, and you can create a society of your creature, and then outsource to other worlds when you've become advanced enough, and it's plain fucking awesome.

Quakewars is like BF2 but with the doom3 engine massively updated fast paced with vehicles etc and looks seriously sweet with a somewhat TFC / BF type gameplay eliment as far as im led to belive. Does look very promising and the graphics are amazing.Napos wrote:Yeah what exactly is Quake Wars, breaker?
I'll def. check out BF:2142 and Prey... then some other of the big companies like EA and stuff. Also Oblivions makers; Bethesda.
Whats spore?

Because it's an enemy territory game? It's the new release. The first was Enemy Territory: wolfenstein. It's a kickass game and now they're making ET in the quake universe. Basically, BF2142, is EAs answer to QuakeWars... but it looks whack in comparison and will probably continue the EA battlefield tradition of being one of the buggiest ever games on release. =)

No kidding, if it really outshines the BF franchise which it seems to have done graphically but time will tell about gameplay, I think Quakewars could replace BF in alot of peoples minds.WOZZA wrote:quakewars looks great i just hope the gameplay element with the vehicles etc makes it as fun as BF2 is.
When it comes to OpenGL though with DX10 looking the way it does there better be some hurried development on OGL or it will kill this game in the long run. Lots of developers are moving away from OGL as it is I don't want to see a good game destroyed by the choice of 3d engines.
As a side note: As someone who loves linux I think that OGL is a great thing because when a developer makes an OGL game they tend to port it to Linux but I have to say that Microsoft is really pulling out all the stops when it comes to the next generation graphics. With the Xbox 360 and the upcoming game friendly features of Vista I think that OGL could be doomed which sucks but its the reality of the whole computer industry.
