so i compile with full hdr, make sure i have cubemaps

get into game, looks like this, so i build cubemaps, reload map, same thing.

Image

anything to do with this?
No such variable "$hdrbasetexture" for material "skybox/sky_day01_07rt"
Can't load skybox file skybox/sky_day01_07 to build the default cubemap!
time to pick a new skybox?

Yes. I suggest a skybox with _hdr in the name.

Although it really seems like you need new textures.

Let me ask you this:
How did you reload the map? Disconnect then play it again or quit the game completely/load a different map and reload yours?

Then, if you haven't already,
Disconnect then play it again or quit the game completely/load a different map and reload yours
The source engine needs to rid its cache of the default cubemaps by loading new ones or removing them from its cache all together before the new ones can be read...Or so someone told me.
