* Release in late 2008
* Set in year modern day (just like BF2, ed.)
* Will ship with 8 maps, each supporting up to 40-players per team
* Two playable factions, NATO and MEC (Middle Eastern Coalition)
* Same “ticket-based” gameplay style as before
* Squads and Commanders are present, introduced are “Battalions” which consist of three to four squads.
* Five playable classes; Sniper, Assault, Engineer, Medic and Support
* Widows Vista and OS X (no XP?!) [it just omits XP in the list]

If they aren't making BF3 for windows xp also, it will only hurt their sales(imo).

this was just investor details - doesn't mean they WON'T support XP, they are just highlighting points that investors would be interested in, so i assume xp is a given, plus OS X and vista.

also, 3 or 4 squads is a PLATOON, 12-25 people. a BATTALION is 3-5 BATTERIES, which comes to ~600 people. i hope they change it to platoon, battalion would just be stupid.

fuck battlefield it's always a fad for about a month after it's release then it just dies.

Hopefully by late 2008 (or whenever they release the game), Vista SP1 will be out. That way I actually might switch over.

For the Marine Corps it's as follows:

Fire Team = 4 people
Squad = 3 Fire Teams + Squadleader (13)
Platoon = 3 Squads + Platoon leader (40)
Company = 3-4 Platoons + Company Commander, First Sergeant (122-162)
Battalion = 3-4 Companies + Battalion Commander, Sergeant Major (368-650)
Regiment = 3-4 Battalions + Battalion Commander, Sergeant Major (1106-2602)
Division = 3-5 Regiments + Commanding General, Sergeant Major (3302-13012)

But I agree is should be called a platoon.
