well, I've played it and...
fucking amazing!! I'm guessing that only those who put it on pre-purchase on it can play on servers? cause I'm only getting to join dedicated servers.

Eh? The new matchmaking system works by letting people join a 4-man chat lobby, then placing that entire group onto an empty server (which you can specify as dedicated or not).Deski wrote:well, I've played it and...

You can still join the classic way by typing "openserverbrowser" in the console.

It's easy to play with j2 people, since we're all on each other's friends lists, and the new matchmaking system lets you find friends easily. I suppose to connect to j2 servers, you would use "connect l4d1.joe.to:27015" or something...the new matchmaking system kind of eliminates the community around a specific server.joe wrote:how do we connect to the j2 servers or to play with j2 people?

i copied zps BSPs into left 4 dead is that all i needed to do? i cant seem to find a folder with textures

Okay, well you did the first part.
Now you need to go into your zombie panic folder and look for a folder called "materials" and one called "models". Just copy each of these folders into your left 4 dead directory and that should be it.

But if ZP also borrows textures and models from HL2, you'd have to copy over any relevant files too (unless you want pink textures and big red errors).

So get a program called GCFscape and extract the "source materials" and "source models" folders. Then put those in your l4d folder as well.
