is FFXIV for you?
interesting article with 5 questions:
http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/13970-ge ... e-for-you/
1. are you a fan of other FF games?
2. did you play FFXI?
3. will you be playing FFXIV 4 hours or less per day?
4. do you have a PC that can run it well?
5. do you want to like it?
i only said yes to two (played FFXI, have a good PC). the XP limitation is the main reason i'm not getting it but even if they took it out, it just seems like a very casual-oriented game. if i play an MMO i want to play it for 16 hours if i want to.

I enjoyed other FF games. I guess I'll count that as being a fan.

4/5, Didn't play FF XI
Although I HIGHLY disagree with the XP Cap, I can live with playing for only 4 hours

My PC can run it well but aside from that I never really cared for FF.

Re: is FFXIV for you?
I have a decent PC (i7-920, 12GB ram, GTX 260), I wouldn't mind a casual MMO now (I don't have time to be successful at anything else really), I tried FFXI for a few months but didn't really like it, I like other FF games, but FFXIV is a massive disappointment. I suppose they just suck at writing PC games- its unoptimized and the lack of decent input support is laughable which bothers me as a software developer to the point I can't even really consider playing it.

3/5 for now.
Within a few months, 4/5 or 5/5, depending on course load, hahaha
Oh, and isn't the cap per class? Not in general? So when you max the cap on your conjurer, you can switch to thaumaturge, and when you max that, switch to lancer, etc?

I plan on leveling up crafting. So if a LS is made, I demand all mats be sent to me. I will be focusing on things that make weapons and armor. So screw you alchemy and culinary.

Re: is FFXIV for you?
So I've been playing the open beta since it came out, have yet to hit any experience cap. My levels are 14 Archer/4 Conjurer/9 Armorer/9 Carpenter/4 Botanist/3 Weaving/19 Physical. There is no way this is a casual game, sure if you just did leves, but you are pretty much capable of doing whatever you want. I'm in the Reddit LS and we have tons of fun on mumble doing the level 20 leves together and killing high level mobs.

Re: is FFXIV for you?
According to the information orz gave, you need to hit 80,000 EXP to hit the initial 8 hour fatigue, then you still get another 7 hours after that of lower exp. I've played since the beginning and only have 35,000 exp physical. There's no possible way I'm going to hit that fatigue so I'm good.

Re: is FFXIV for you?
1. I used to collect them until they started branching out their spin-offs(Crystal Chronicles, Tactics Advance, etc).
2. I have it but never played it(I don't play subscription games, but that might change)
3. I'll buy it and try the free trial, but I won't subscribe until they lift the cap. If I have to pay to play a game I already bought I should be able to grind as much as I want until I reach the overall level cap.
4. I will soon have one that can run it on the highest setting.
5. Yes, that's why I am going to buy it and might subscribe to it once/if the XP cap gets lifted.
