giant 26 page article in the new yorker went online today (in next week's print issue), with a ton of insider secret stuff about scientology that hasn't been revealed before

one of the facts the article reveals is that the FBI is investigating them for slavery/human trafficking because they force people to work for free

Scientology is a moronic "religion" concocted to sell merchandise--the very first of its kind. Its founder was a wannabe-Freud and a crackpot scholar.

I read about 75% of the article. It was solid writing. It still is, come to think of it.

Real humans with a real need to better themselves, to become spiritually aware and/or heal are just that... human. It's heartbreaking when someone gets drawn into a cult, but especially Scientology because it's just so goddamned obvious that it's profoundly expensive snake oil wrapped in the simple minded wrapper of Dianetics.

I could really go off on the Cult of Scientology but there's already xenu.net ... and my Thetan brain slug is already vexed with me.
