So, due to software issues... I'm now running on ubuntu, until I fix my computer. (Most likely will just salvage music, pics, etc... then format my HDD) I'm currently downloading tf2 through wine, not sure how it will do, but hopefully it will work.

Is wine VM? anyway I have headed that tf2 will run fine in wine before.

Have you run it in WINE before? You might want to mess with Winetricks because directX won't be on there by default. And do Google around, everyone's mileage will vary a lot depending on hardware and software, but sometimes there's one little simple thing you can do to get it from running shitty in dxlevel 80 mode to running perfect with normal settings.

Wine's not a VM, joe. It's an implementation of the Windows API's on Linux. Or something.

Performance is reduced compared to Windows but it's still way better than it would be running in a VM.
