You should have a Steam code for the beta, which will let you download it (and get updates, etc).

I like when the commander is very talkative, drunk commander sounds like fun.

Idea: if you guys need another game to play afterwards, there is Empires mod (free) for Half-life-2 which has commanders, resource nodes, and vehicles, similar concept to NS. http://www.empiresmod.com/ (Also it looks like you no longer use the 3rd party installer, you use steams auto-updater)

Well, anyhow, knoid brought up the idea of putting up an NS server sometime (we already have the files from a while back) and having a j2 NS night sometime, since NS2 still has a good deal of work to be done on it. Who would be up for that?

And I'd be willing to bet a lot more j2ers have HL than have NS2 atm.

It'll probably run better when I have more than 2gigs ram. Wouldn't run for shit for me, took forever to get into the server which I had to do twice, and then it just lagged insanely.

NS2 is more GPU and Way more CPU than ram.

Well I have a quad core and a 5770 so if that's not good enough to run it it can go fuck itself.

It's 2011, 2gigs of ram pretty much bottlenecks the shit out of you no matter what you're playing. Luckily I have 8 gigs arriving on the morrow. OOH plus it's payday and I'll have drugs again. It will be a good day.
