Ya i started source mapping and i have no idea wtf im doing.

First off, LIGHTS! how do i make them brighter? i made the brightness 2000 and my light_env outside is still dark? And same with all my other lights!
Also HDR, What does this do? i ran it and my lights make it all white

Secondly, how do i change a ragdolls appernce(like move its arm and such) in hammer? and how do i animate it?

Thirdly, Whats the enity that like makes that beam of light, its used in a lot of maps(im not talking about the fade texture)

Whats env_global do?

And Finaly how do i make a animated texture using a .gif?

Please dont give me links to tuts, i learn better from like someone telling me.

1) Up the constant.
2) HDR is used to fake the way an eye adjusts to the transition from light to dark, or vice versa. For example, from a tunnel to the outdoor with the sun above you.
3) You can't pose a ragdoll in hammer, to animate, you could use face poser for expression or decompile and reanimate in a modelling program.
4) Point_spotlight
5) You can't use a gif, you break down the frames, and make a texture combining all of them.

I'd like to note you should always check the "No dynamic light" on point_spotlight, it will make a nice increase in the fps of your map.
