read the rest here http://hawtymcbloggy.com/2008/02/28/ano ... microsoft/A passionate gamer by the name of Nathaniel purchased an Xbox 360 at launch. After working reliably for over two years, his faithful console companion finally kicked the bucket. It was then that he faced a major quandary. Should he send it in for repairs or attempt to fix it himself? The obvious answer would be send it in for repairs but Nathaniel's 360 was not like yours and mine. Oh no, it was special. "Was" being the key word.
Nathaniel's Xbox 360 was his trusty traveling companion. Throughout their joint adventures, Nathaniel acquired several signatures from notable members of the gaming community, all collected directly upon his console with permanent marker. Signatures from several members of the Rooster Teeth Productions staff shared space with signatures from members of the Xbox 360 team and also staff from Bungie Studios. He even had custom artwork by Rooster Teeth Comics artist and Halo fan artist Luke McKay on it.

What an idiot...
I would have bought a new one and kept that one where it belongs...as a collectors item.
What, he didn't have the money for a new one that second..well save up for a week or two...
I feel for him, but wow...stupid move to trust any customer service group.

Re: Another Gamer Screwed by Microsoft
i read about this and had 2 reactions:
a) it's probably company policy to clean the cases as one step of the repair procedure, especially if they use stickers or dry-erase markers to label the machines while they are in the repair location.
b) if the case was so important he should have borrowed someone else's case to send his in for repair
however it still sucks and i feel bad for him.

You can't swap cases without opening the console, and he was afraid Microsoft wouldn't do anything to it if it had been opened.

RTFA. It's not a fail in hardware, actually has nothing to do with the 360, it's just microsoft in general.Tuck wrote:Yet another xbox 360 fails. What's new?
