So it's like HL:Source, but better? Is it the exact same storyline/pathing as HL, or are they doing something special?

HL:Source was pretty much the same game ported straight to another engine, untouched.

This supposed to be a true remake of Half-Life, and follows the same storyline/pathing, although a few artistic liberties are going to be taken so that it'll be slightly different, I think. Nonetheless impressive.

It's a complete fan rebuild of Half Life on the source engine. Some goon works on it or heads up the project, someone in SA just made another thread about it: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showth ... genumber=1

Quite excited- finally a fuckin' release date too (release year, at least).

i don't get how this would be better than HL source? at best it seems they would just replicate HL source

Joe, did you ever play HL Source? It was the same game, except with a different physics engine.

This is a complete rebuild from the ground-up. It's not just a copy-paste with better graphics, everything is being redone. Models, textures, levels, voice acting, music, etc. Go to their site and look at their comparison pictures or listen to their music samples- it's amazing that a project like this has continued for as long as it has.

All hl source did was improve the physics and blood splatter when you execute the scientists who are no longer of use to you and make the water look pretty. It really looked like shit otherwise. Black Mesa looks like HL2 basically with the sexy models and what not. Basically HL:S if they put any effort into it.
