anyone played it or have strong opinions about it? is it dying or doing ok?

Yeah, I also heard it was pretty terrible.

No MMO's can hold any ground at the moment, and don't have the player base to make significant improvements because of the monstrosity that is W-O-W.

The exception is EvE because it's so different from other MMO's out there. The other is Guild Wars, but that's primarily because it doesn't require a subscription.
Tabula Rasa dropped its service, which lasted all but a year. I think I heard that Hellgate London did as well.

it was ok but keep hearing people that still play it were displeased with class nerfs and new content sucking.
