L4D 2 (sequel) news

Left 4 Dead 2 set for E3 reveal? Valve zombie shooter sequel incoming by the sounds of it.
A sequel to Valve's brilliant Left 4 Dead could be set for a surprise reveal at E3 next week, if "reliable" internet sources are to be believed.

According to a report on Destructoid, the second zombie shooter will be unveiled by EA and Valve in LA with four new survivors set to battle the infected horde.

The follow-up, claims the site, is set during the same time frame but four new survivors will be fighting off the infected in other, new locations.

New guns are said to star as well as the introduction of melee weapons like a baseball bat, axe, and chainsaw. At least one new special infected is also tipped, something "big" and "fast", the site says.

Is their information good? We've got less than a week to wait.

Less than a weeks wait?

Awesome! :D
I hope this is true, because this sounds great.

Then again, I wont buy it because it's just more $ down the drain.

Pack-in with HL2:ep3?

Though I'm thinking another rebranded retail SKU, and a patch for everyone else. Though it could be a standalone product, if HL2:Ep3/portal2 isn't ready.

Yeah, I think its too soon for a sequel. Like NIPPER said, they just released the ability to make maps for L4D.

its not too soon for they ain't changing much but adding models & maps. If anything, it shouldn't change the dynamic of L4D at all. Maybe with the infected DOGS. that'd be intense.

cant wait for the melee weapons tho.

In reality, the best sex results from good communication and planning; like a Rainbow 6 mission.

I would rather have an awesome update then have to pay $50 for an entirely new game that is basically the same as the old one.

i think we can make some assumptions:

1. if it's coming out soon, it's not a new game. it's just some new models, new weapons, and new maps for the existing game

2. they are making an announcement at E3 so it's probably just that: an announcement. which means the game could come a year or more later
