So you're still chugging away with the L4D2 version? :D

Really?
I really thought you quit mapping and just didn't want to spend time on it any more. Well, let me know if you need something from me for the fix.

Understandable. I finished school 3 years ago so I don't have that problem any more.
Well, if you get back to mapping some day, let us know :)

And I'm 28 so I think yeah, I'm probably a couple of years older than you.

Wha? Nipper only 26? That would mean he was only 3 when GI Joe the movie came out. Even the second run of the show was wrapped up by 1991. I'm a little surprised he became so attached to it. GI Joe, Transformers, Voltron and Thunder Cats we're my favorites growing up. Man, I'm freaking old...

Thundercats and the rest of those shows came back on cartoon network in the early 90's, I'm only 20 and fucking Thundercats, Speed Racer, Voltron and G-Force and made my childhood.

So I was thinking about updating this once and for all and I’m reading the comments on l4dmaps.com… is it true that custom models are fucked up now too? Is there any hope of this getting to a point where I can just change a few things and release it? Every time I go away for a week there’s like 30 new problems caused by game updates.

Did anyone ever even figure out how to fix the sounds? How do I utilize new features introduced with the latest big update? There's no tutorials or any info on mapping these days.

I think a few months ago Valve fixed the sound issue so that both L4D1 and L4D2 use the same method.
Give this a read:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=1482341

In particular, it looks like you HAVE to do this for your map:
Creators of campaigns (and vpk's) can do this by typing snd_buildsoundcachefordirectory addons/yourcampaign/sound
It should create a file called sound.cache, which you just add to the VPK with everything else, I think.

Similar guide (OP uses Night Terror for his example, and reports success):
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=1535423

So I guess this makes the previous method with snd_rebuildaudiocache and _master.cache obsolete, since each campaign has their own sound.cache file now.
