joe.to Squad DM server

Post by Trizik » Sat Apr 17, 2010 12:55 am

joe.to now has a ranked 16 slot squad deathmatch server

name = joe.to squad deathmatch los angeles
IP:port = 66.154.116.168:19567

Image

current settings:

PunkBuster = on
team balance = on
ff = off
hardcore = off
killcam = on
minimap = on
crosshair = on
3D spotting = on
minimap spotting = on
third person vehicle view = on

admin control is still pretty limited but with the release of PRoCon 0.3.4.0 (admin tool) it's now possible to move players to different teams/squads, so no more changing servers every time one of us drops out of the game or a stranger joins one of our squads

everyone on the j2 BFBC2 friends list can say/yell + move players + restart/change level + kill + kick
all senior admins have full access

please follow the same guidelines for the TF2 servers:

http://forums.joe.to/viewtopic.php?f=185&t=45148
http://forums.joe.to/viewtopic.php?f=185&t=49862

there are two ways to access the admin features:

1) in-game commands via text chat
in-game commands wrote:No one will see you issueing the commands (even you) if you prefix it with a '/'

/@kick Phogue
(this text won't be displayed in the game)

I'd like to apply for basic admin rights for the BC2 server.

1) open ..\Documents\BFBC2\GameSettings.ini

2) find FavoriteGames=

3) add 0,13685a2b-feff-4cc0-89ff-5ce3261497eb,joe.to squad dm los angeles ff on\, killcam off; after FavoriteGames=

edit: the in-game menus work now so this shouldn't be necessary anymore

Seems like a good server...messed around in it for a bit (had 40MM smoke grenade duels).

the TF2 server admin application process seems to work out pretty well

http://forums.joe.to/viewtopic.php?f=185&t=49775

it makes sense to use that process for all servers and apply promotions to all servers, including this one, rather than having separate processes for different games.. right?

edit: change of plans.. for now if you want admin just ask

Thanks for providing the server, Trizik. Also, I love that the server banner tagline says "close game." Awesomeness.

Oh, nifty.
And, I guess, a reason to add my name to that wiki page.
