l4d sucked, way too repetitive. play for an hour and any 60 seconds of gameplay is indistinguishable from any other 60 seconds of gameplay
L4D2 adds scavenge mode which requires tactics and strategy and planning and just by itself is a pretty amazing game.

Too bad L4D soured me too much to drop another $50 on the franchise.
