this looks really interesting. it's a combination of open world (not instanced) mmorpg with PvE, and map-based class team PvP (like tf2). you will find items and level up each class (assault, medic, recon) in PvE and when playing PvP you can use those items

it's not in public beta yet but starting soon.

There are multiple ways to get into the Firefall beta. The first is to sign up on http://www.firefallthegame.com and wait for an invite from Red 5 Studios directly.

they are planning to do a google-type beta where the first people in get to invite friends, and those friends get to invite more friends and so on, so as long as 1 or 2 of us are invited early we should be able to invite everyone here who wants to play

Our beta invitation system and user acquisition will continue to expand through December in order to ensure a stable, consistent, and fun environment for Firefall.

oh i forgot the best part - it's 100% FREE TO PLAY - the microtransactions will get you costumes and skins but nothing affecting gameplay

A few of the dudes leading the dev team are ex-blizzard north employees/some of the original WoW devs.

I signed up for the beta the day it was available so hopefully I'll get in right away.

Looks like they are trying to do what Global Agenda tried to do. Global Agenda kind of failed on the MMO portion aside from AvA but their combat is fantastic, one of the only games where I feel like I can out play opponents and they can't get a lucky headshot on me.

Signed up for the beta a while back, looking forward to it.
