Dominion has been activated for a limited time on the US servers, at least. Not sure about EU.

I assumed that it being active today was just a random time.

I find Dominion to be a lot more fun than Summoner's Rift.

It's normal LoL without the early grind of worrying about every last hit and such.. plus, if I want to make sure I have time for a short game, I can play dominion because the games are almost always 10-30 minutes. It's like a battleground in WoW and I love it

...Three items? What champions have you been playing?

(As a rule, don't use ANY champion that has to farm to get strong, i.e. veigar, in dom)

gangplank, jarvan, annie, and i tried janna once but that didn't go that well.

either i get a competent team and we rape them, or my teammates decide farming minions is more important than capping the 5 points back and we get raped

This has been my experience too. i have 9 wins and 6 losses in dominion, have played pretty much only pantheon. I raged quietly earlier today because of this, I should have 10 wins and 5 losses, but apparently Heimer thought it was a good idea to farm minions while their whole team was bottom and he didn't want to take japan, instead defending the ice cream cone.
