This thread is about a real game.

Basically:
PC Only
Possible 2012 release
Going to be a multiplayer game only
Persistent world
"Free to Play"
RPG-like elements
Can form/join guild like things called Merc Corps
Merc Corps can align themselves with factions
Merc Coprs can take over planets, holding them until some other Corps conquers it
Sounds like MW4-style mech customization (can choose various kinds of rockets to go into rocket pods, etc).

Remember hearing about this earlier, one thing I liked was that to support the game (since it's F2P) there is stuff to buy, but anything that could give you an advantage in a fight has to be earned by playing, no pay to win.

If you're referring to MechAssault, while I still think it's fun and all, I don't think it even came close to being as good as the original MechWarrirors (though, I started with MW2, so I can't really say much about the original original).

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed MechAssualt and all, but it just felt like a dumbed down / arcade-y version of MechWarrior. Which kind of disappointed me. Still was fun though.

It looks like they're pretty big into the story behind it, which is good I guess. I also read some of the books. I liked the uhhh Aidan Jade falcon trilogy.m

Also, joystick support would be nice. That was the main thing that made it hard to get into MW:LL. I dunno about now, but they didn't have joystick support when I played, and yeah you could map it, but I couldn't figure out how to get the speed to work with my analog throttle.

I miss virtual world. And I think it's kind of wierd that I actually did immediately assume MW when I saw mech warrior. I always assume Mech warrior. I get confused when it's COD.
