Realm: Crushridge (Required, Pick this before creating character, "Back" Button)
Side: Alliance (Required)
Region: United States (Required)
Preferred Race: Human, Night Elf? (Determines First Spawn Location, doesn't matter, Don't pick Worgen unless you know what you are doing)
Time: Sunday, December 11, 2011, 5 PM PST/West-Coast

Instead of level grinding we should explore and do fun stuff. It'll be like a scenic drive through the country side.

Need to pick a Realm and Side (one that has the most people who feel like partaking in this who are paying money?). We could also all pick the same race, or specify a preferred race for people who don't care. (I think race determines your first spawn location, don't know how significant this is).

Message spam me on mumble whenever. (5 PM - 10 PM PST, bother me if i'm playing outside this window)

Those who are paying money should disable experience gains at 20. Don't know if this is still necessary, but you should do it just in case. (make sure you don't get to 21 by exploring new areas before you disable it)

We could specify a day like Friday or Saturday.

its possible that you can't be in a party with someone over level 20, i recall seeing that restriction somewhere, maybe they removed it.

(Actually, you just need to log into your already existing battle.net account and look around for "my games" and "purchase" until you find "starter edition")

I'll give it a go. We could always get a bunch of people together and kill Hogger.

On the sign-up page i see "Region Americas/Oceania", this might be important for those of you in Europe/etc. https://us.battle.net/account/creation/wow/signup/

Right now i'm thinking: Saturday 5 PM PST, starting at level 1.

What server do we planning on playing on? I recommend going alliance, the scenery for the starting areas isn't so boring.

I was thinking Tomorrow, but it doesn't matter to me. You can pick the day + time. I'm actually free at almost any day and time.

For side i agree with alliance since that's the side i see used in this recent thread: http://forums.joe.to/viewtopic.php?f=14 ... 1&start=45
I've seen all of them in mumble the past few days.

For server, i think we should go with whatever server they are playing on.

For picking servers one thing we need to research is this: "Realms experiencing login queues will prioritize players who have full, paid accounts.". In theory this could result in a disaster for us, though it may end up not being significant, we should ask some one experienced what we should do.

Someone with a high level character might be useful since they could clear a path for us with AOE (if we start at different locations we'll need to get to each other), might be able to revive/etc us, and they could take us on a tour.

I'd be interested. The server we were playing on there is Crushridge, however I don't think any of us had a high level toon there.

On Nazgrel, however, I have a number of high level toons, one of them being a mage which can portal people all over the map.

I have a few high levels still on Crushridge Alliance (my paladin would be the perfect guide). Waterbear will be out of action for the next few days to week, though.

There are a very few number of realms that I know of that actually have log in queues. If you manage to pick one out of the large list, I'll be really surprised. Crushridge is a medium population pvp realm with an almost equal horde:alliance ratio. It will be pretty unlikely to run across someone else while exploring, so it'd be a safe bet. If we come across another max level character, I doubt I'd be able to protect you guys, though. My paladin isn't geared or spec'd for pvp.

Also party groups are limited to 5 players, and I think you have to be at least level 10 to join a raid group (xp gain is disabled while in a raid group). I'm not sure if trial accounts can join a raid group, though.

I also have a priest who can levitate people, which can be really helpful if we need to get down a giant mountain or go over some water.

I'd be willing to try this out. Haven't played WoW for ages (I think I canceled my subscription a few months before the second expansion), should be interesting.
