Guild Wars II - Roll Call

Hi everyone, for those of you still following Guild Wars II, the second Beta Weekend Event will be starting this Friday. This is the most important BWE so far, obviously because I am participating in it. The Beta Weekend Events are open to people who have pre purchased the game from Arena Net, but I think you can get a key to get in from preordering from Amazon (not sure).

Ideally, I'd like to play with other j2ers, because really.. where would you be without me?

This would be a good time for us to get together and make sure we all have each other added as friends on there, make sure we head to the same server, and maybe start a guild (or equivalent) together to keep it organized.

Linked in the information thread was the list of groups and entities that have stated what server they plan to organize on.

Worth noting is 4chan on "Anvil Rock." I agree with the sentiment from the last thread that we should avoid there. No hard feelings to any 4channers here, but I definitely believe that if they end up with a big presence on there it will get dramatic and confrontational with anyone who isn't on "their side"

Also, the only Reddit community I saw noted on there was on the EU side. I'm not sure if being on a world with a Reddit organization would be good or bad, probably neither. I am getting a little tired of their mainstream gaming community, though...


Does anyone here know more about the realms, or have existing characters we should know about?

I'd steer towards any server reddit people are on, but whatever j2 picks I'm up for.

..and the problem with having a ton of servers has officially begun. The game isn't even out yet and j2 is already separated. I guess if I pick this up it won't be until the dust settles and I can see where the majority ends up.

We're jumping into servers because beta is very short. We have plenty of time to decide on a server before launch, someone just needs to figure out how we're going to pick.

It seems that Guild Wars 2 will be live August 28, 2012, barring any last minute fails on arena.net's side.

I plan on being on Sorrow Furnace... Got my collectors edition and after a few months when I rack up enough gold and high enough charatcers I plan on making my own guild. (Waiting on my new comp... just missing a video card and some ram.)

I've been playing on Darkhaven for the beta, but it looks like it's going to be overpopulated. And if that's the case I'll go wherever the majority of j2 goes.

Choose one server and fucking stick with it.
Don't matter if its on west coast. Just do it people
