The series is alright ,but in typical shonen manga fashion it just goes on for too long (forever).
The joke/idea/premise of the manga is bound to get lost somewhere by chapter 100 or so.

Honestly, i can't seem to understand all the rave about it. I think the anime is more well paced ,but then again i don't get the gimmick of series.
It's like the hottest mainstream anime at the moment, think of Attack on Titan/Kill la Kill/DBZ

to both of y'all: so I thought, but the manga does not just follow saitama's story and is a lot more than him just punching things once. the manga focuses on the other characters (fubuki, hurricane, tony stark, mumen rider, etc.) more than on saitama

or just make assumptions to be contrarian for the sake of it, thats cool too

If I make assumptions, it's because everyone I've heard compliment the show focuses on how the one punch man beats people with one punch and not these supposedly ancillary side-characters.
