Since pubs are completely ass, I'll give it a shot with a j2 group. I main Lucio, but I've also had good practice with Mei, McCree and Zarya if the situation calls for them.

I ended up pre-ordering the game before I played it. It looked like a fun game, so I took the risk. It was worth it.

I played a bit the other night and I agree that it feels a lot like TF2.

That means it also has some of the same balance problems TF2 has. An unbalanced team or a breakdown in teamwork leads to a steamroll by one team and a poor experience for the losers.

I'm also getting a bit of a Quake vibe, especially with players like Tracer and Genji. That's not a good thing in my book. I consider Quake to be a twitchy shooter that is unfriendly to new or casual players.

It also has the same issue where on a team of 6, at least 2 nerds will always be widowmaker, and they will always suck, and they will always drag the team down. I've even seen them just sit right outside spawn to shoot at dudes. Its giving me flashbacks to 2fort.

it's hard to really hold it against a game when "getting steamrolled is incredibly frustrating" is a problem with every multiplayer game. The good matches I've had have been fun and the base game is only 40$ ....

I Agree with NIPPER, you shouldn't blame a game for the players making bad choices. I personally think that the perfectly executed teamplay moments i.e. A 5 player Mercy rez, Mei freezing bitches and Bastion tank rolling them, makes up for any disappointing team composition issues.

How can you be bad at Widowmaker? That shouldn't be possible. No restricted scope view, no recoil, and a wall hack.

How?! I say!

IMO widowmaker and tracer seem pretty OP at the moment. It's just not fair that widow has a hitscan semi-auto headshot machine that also is a good full-auto rifle. When I get killed by a hanzo I always feel like I got outplayed or that the hanzo is pretty good, but with widowmaker I just feel like i got clicked on and then died and that's very unfun gameplay.

As for Tracer it's just bullshit how mobile she is in a fight and how she gets an "oops I fucked up, time for a second chance" button. I can appreciate it from a design aspect but honestly that's just bad gameplay design. One could argue that she's close range only and you can just avoid her, but it really doesn't matter when she has up to three long-ranged blinks. Plus her voice over is so obnoxious it makes me want to beat the shit out of her.
