I can't take TF2 seriously

Obviously TF2 isn't supposed to be serious, but it's really hard to play it seriously when people are running around with shoes that jingle, or ducks appear when people die. Burn the ducks with fire.
Like, they ruined my favorite game.

TF2 used to be about a somewhat serious type of enviroment, but then it evolved, it's all about how you look at it. All these cosmetics that are being added are not do not change the core game mechanics at all (except things like the Scout Elf set) but other than that, it's still the same game as before but with more weapons and maps

TL;DR: if you don't look at cosmetics (lord forbid), it's still fun

I thought the Alien items were pretty ridiculous, but I'm glad that scout outfit is Halloween only.
I've always played knowing that TF2 wasn't a serious game, and ducks are just another part of the game at this point.
