Re: Wii-U
Yeah I figured that would happen. I'm probably gonna hold off on getting one, I've spent lots of money on vija games lately and I have plenty of shit to last me a long time.

Re: Wii-U
So uhh. Who's getting one? I never pre-ordered but I want one now, may try to get one on launch day if it seems possible to nab a Deluxe version at retail price. I'm not completely sold on everything about the console honestly, but I'm optimistic. The main reasons I want one are probably something like:
1. Fun, simple, family-friendly multiplayer games to play with my young nephew, siblings, friends, and parents. Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros. U look perfect for this.
2. Upcoming games. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Smash Bros. 4, Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, Game & Wario, Wii Fit U, The Wonderful 101, Zelda, 3D Mario... yeah. I'm a huge fan of Nintendo's games and I have a feeling that I will end up getting a Wii U eventually when these games start coming out even if I decide not to get one now.
3. Decent launch titles. Nintendo Land and NSMBU are definite must haves for me, Tank Tank Tank and ZombiU look interesting as well. Maybe Warriors Orochi 3, used to play Dynasty Warriors games.
What about everyone else?

Re: Wii-U
I'm gonna get one, but likely around december. I plan to pick up Mario, Assassin's Creed III, and ZombiU for it. I finally got to play with it and it was really, really, really cool.

Re: Wii-U
Basically everything you said Derp, I'm on the waiting list for one via GameStop, but they're saying I might not even get mine until AFTER Christmas. However, I'm COMPLETELY sold on everything the console has turned out to be so far, I played the display they have at the local Gamestop here and the Gamepad is A LOT lighter than I thought it was going to be. The only demo they had was Rayman, which isn't BAD, but I was hoping for more honestly -u-
AND MONSTER HUNTER.
3DS AND WII U CROSSOVER PLAY.
If you buy a Wii U and don't get MH Tri Ultimate you probably suck or something

Re: Wii-U
I went and got one from Target when they opened this morning, there was about 5 other people there and I think they had 8 deluxe models. Also got NSMBU, 2 Wii Fling Smash ($25 each for 2 wiimotes with motion+), and 2 nunchuks from Toys 'R Us. Excited to hook it up and get my family playing Nintendo Land later today

Jesus the Wii System Transfer has the most adorable interpretation of a progress bar I've ever seen. Took around 15 - 20 minutes, but I didn't mind at all. I<3U Ninty.
(Hidden in case you'd rather wait to see it when you get a Wii U and use the System Transfer)
Day 1 Wii U System Update took around an hour or more.

Re: Wii-U
I just had like 9 - 10 people in a room playing Nintendo Land for about 6 hours straight, absolute blast. Mario Chase and the Animal Crossing game are ridiculously fun to play with a huge group. Luigi's Ghost Mansion is good, but it tends to feel more competitive, not as much screaming and laughing, at least in my group. Spent very little time on Pikmin and Zelda, Metroid Blast was pretty fun though. Mostly just played Versus with 5 players (good god, 4 nunchuks and 4 motion plus needed!), it was fun but... uhh... yeah more skill based game I guess. It seems like the 3 Team Attractions have a decent amount of content in the adventure modes, might have to try to set up a date to get some people to play through them with me.
Just breezed through the single player games but Octopus Dance was absolutely hilarious. If you can, play it with at least 2 or 3 other people the first time you try it out. Make sure the camera is on!
Love this game, didn't even put NSMBU in my Wii U yet.

Re: Wii-U
Noice. The guy who does the voice of Lemongrab from Adventure Time asked me to stand in line for him. Needed the extra cash so I stood in line with no pre-order. Got the very last one of 40. Was intense as they had to escort me to my car to make sure no one would mug me for it ha.

In reality, the best sex results from good communication and planning; like a Rainbow 6 mission.

Re: Wii-U
Mini Nintendo Land review:
This game is downright amazing. I don't understand why people say this game is "good, but not worth $60." Honestly, I haven't had this much fun with a game in a long time, hands down the best local multiplayer experience I've ever had with a large group of people, better than Rockband IMO, and I've played a ton of video games over the years. Anyone can play the "Competitive" attractions, they're all very simple to control and encourage a huge amount of communication and get everyone yelling and laughing very quickly. If you get a room full of people playing these games, you WILL have fun unless you're with some real depressing downers.
The "Team" attractions actually seem to have a large amount of content, there are a lot of levels to play through, and they start to get pretty challenging later on! Pikmin and Metroid also have versus modes, though Pikmin's is pretty simple, Metroid's is pretty robust. Metroid's versus is extremely skill based, so the people who are "good" at video games will absolutely dominate, if you're looking for something with more depth and complex controls to show your skills. The "Solo" attractions are all interesting, kind of a mixed bag. They're all very well made, though. None of them are throwaway games. All of the solo games keep a high score board, so you can try to beat your scores or your friends.
The entire game is VERY polished, the graphics are consistently excellent throughout. The game is bursting with great music, a lot of it being classic Nintendo tunes or remixes of them. There are plenty of coins, prizes, and stamps to collect as well. The game pulls off the theme park motif beautifully, and it all comes together to make an infectiously fun, carefree atmosphere. This really seems like THE #1 reason to get a Wii U to me. The 76 on Metacritic really puzzles me, I honestly think this seems like a 90+ game.
